  • Hall Hall 2 Oriol Martorell
  • Cycle OBC Chamber Music

This concert, initially scheduled on the 8th of January, has suffered a change of date. Finally, it will take place the 5th of February at 8 pm.

Many composers have dedicated works to the string quintet for viola (Beethoven, Schubert, ‎Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Dvořák, Martinů, Milhaud ...). In this concert, Mozart´s last ‎‎String Quintet in E flat major, K. 614 is performed, written a few months before ‎his death, as well as the String Quintet in G major by Brahms, known as the Prater ‎Quintet, one of his last chamber works. Composed in 1890, the critic Eduard Hanslick ‎remarked; "the quintet has a splendid and generous solidity of construction, expressive ‎intensity and the admirable conciseness of form".‎
